Be Kind Like Caroline Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created by Betsy & Ted Friedman to honor the life and legacy of their daughter Caroline. Caroline was a joy-filled, kind and dynamic person who inspired others to be their best selves.
We raise funds to honor and uplift individuals and organizations that reflect Caroline’s spirit of generosity and kindness, creating meaningful and positive changes in the world.
Created in loving memory of Caroline Friedman
Be Kind Like Caroline was created in loving memory of Caroline Friedman, who passed away from complications of pulmonary hypertension. Born prematurely and facing critical heart challenges — including open-heart surgery at just two months old — Caroline defied every prediction. Though doctors said she wouldn’t live long, she gifted the world 21 extraordinary years full of joy, courage, humor, and boundless kindness.
